Well, one book I’m wading through right now is
Dinosaurs and Other Mesozoic Reptiles of California
The book chronicles various fossil finds in California, and reconstructs ancient California. A bit technical and dry, but full of information. Supposedly the most comprehensive up-to-date overview of Mesozoic California fossils.
/PS Don’t tell the Texans, who apparently don’t believe that there was a Mesozoic.
