Science Advisor is a coordinating position, to make sure efforts and funding is not duplicated and to make sure there are no serious holes (wrt science) in the overall Gov’t science budget/efforts.

It’s a very visible position whose value is mostly in that he has (in theory) the President’s ear.

Right. We know that. However, according to Zombie, he makes it sound like he was going to help create a draconian state where births would be controlled by a big brother government. They still believe that.
