Good moves, except for this one:

Install the uptick rule and make it 4 tenths that prices have to go up before you can get out of a shor tsale. That will stop this pounding of stocks.

There was a ban on shorting financial stocks in the fall, IIRC. The average financial lost over 30% during that time. The free market always wins out.

I think shorting (so long as it’s not naked) serves a useful purpose. One of the reasons why we’re in this mess is because of speculation on the upside.
