Incredible drone footage of the largest ship ever created, the Allseas Pioneering Spirit.

I have seem this mammoth in person from a distance but even then the size is incomprehensible. This ship is 124 meters …. WIDE! And almost 400 meters long. It’s got a double bow and has an island like a super carrier. The purpose of this ship is the removal of obsolete drilling platforms, including the legs. It can haul both the upper structure and the support. Currently it’s anchored in the Rotterdam Maasvlakte harbour where she will be fitted it all kinds of goodies. The ship will be ready to sail beginning 2016.

This is a surreal picture. That crane itself is massive, carrying another crane. This is a picture taken between the two bows of the ship!!
