Here’s what the people who have been directly affected by gun violence are seeing with this vote: a crack was made in the wall that prevents gun laws from being passed. That is why you are seeing all those people who have family members that have died from gun violence shouting “History!” while everyone else on the left is going “Huh?”

An election-year illusion. One crafted to defuse a political issue before November, allowing Dems to boast about how they “passed something” that was “bipartisan” while Repubs can tell folks back home that the bill does virtually nothing to restrict their ability to keep building arsenals in their homes.
