Japanese Americans (emphasis on Americans) weren’t interned because of what Japanese soldiers did in Nanjing. What a stupid equivalence.

There was a reasonable argument for protecting them from reprisals, and the government could not rule out the possibility of spies and infiltrators hiding in their midst.

But that does not begin to justify the way we went about expropriating and interning them.
