The drowning in ethics charges was Palin’s line, and it has been bought by the average person.

Palin is a liar and a grifter.
She was looking for a reason, any reason, to be able to get out of her obligations to the state of Alaska.
The few ethics complaints were her golden ticket.
The job had gotten hard and boring and it was keeping her from the big money score.
