LBJ used every source of power he had in order to get Republican’s support for the act. Are you denying that the Republicans supported the south’s stand against desegregation in the 1960’s based on “state’s rights?” Do you have an explanation for blacks leaving the Republican Party in droves? Or for Nixon’s Southern Strategy?
