I’ve always thought Islam has more in common with Judaism than Christianity. First, we have a shared culture, aside from religion. Second, Mohammed is a prophet, not considered Lord.

I don’t know much about Islamic afterlife. I think the Persian Jews should relocated to Israel.

Pre-1948 Jewish population in Iran was 100,00, in 1979 it was 80,000, now it’s somewhere between 20,000 and 25,000.

Iran’s behavior toward its Jewish minority following the establishment of Israel was much less hostile than that of the Arab countries.

I find a lot of things about Islam very familiar and comfortable, the ‘system’ is recognizable to me as a Jew in many ways. And that cultural connection is there.

Sigh. I’d better stop musing before I end up talking like Arthur Waskow about ‘the children of Uncle Ishmael’.
