We Episcopalians have a whole lot of strange and ugly history too. Bishop/General Polk for one example.

I came very close to converting to Episcopalianism in 1989 and again in 1994.

Attended a bunch of Episcopalian churches from high mass, 1928 prayerbook, to low/guitar mass over the years. If we are on the same wavelegnth, it’s some of that strange and ugly history that gave me pause for conversion.

Still, I really dig the Episcopalians. Especially some of the congregations in the south that are going through heck because of this sexuality bit, and people running off and calling themselves “Anglicans”, with zero connection to Canturbury. Lol alas, Protestantism.
