I can see Netanyahu smuggling Pollard out soon after his release instead of waiting the five years. I actually rate that as more than likely, as a thumb in the eye over the Iran nuclear deal, because Bibi is probably that pissed off. If I were Obama I’d get ahead of this and commute the remainder of Pollard’s sentence, obviating the five year requirement entirely.

It would be easy to spirit Pollard out of the country before his five years are up, especially if US authorities are not especially eager to prevent it. Bibi and his gang could play this up as another spectacular Israeli special ops coup, with tremendous propaganda value. Once in Israel, he would be feted and lionized by Bibi and the media. Israeli intelligence knows the truth about him, however, and I expect that he will be kept on a very short leash.
