How many people have to be sacrificed to appease the Gun God? When do we stop letting the NRA control gun laws? When does this madness stop?

I think Charlton Heston was eerily prescient when he said we would have to pry their guns from their cold, dead hands. As much as I hate to say it, it may actually come down to all of the rabid gun-fuckers dying out (through misadventure, old age, or some combination thereof) to get a chance to make a difference.
