Unfortunately, I think that we are now in the position of having to play it out. I personally do not see impeachment as some easy silver bullet. We are going to have to go through the fight.

we have to remember that ‘impeachment’ is actually a multi-step process
we’re likely to get part of the way through at least
and as it plays out and unfolds, it may be clearer how far it goes - ie stops in the house, goes to the senate, etc

and it’s still way too early to know clearly whether a senate acquittal would be a bad thing politically
