Ronna Romney McDaniel is complaining about the presidential debates three years from now, and if they don’t change the rules right now, the GOP will pull out.

There’s no way a major party nominee skips the debates. First, it’s free tv to talk directly to voters. Second, if they don’t go there is going to be a week or two of “why are they hiding?” stories and mockery on the internet that will swallow up their ability to do any sort of campaigning. Every stop, every interview, every town hall will feature a “why won’t you debate your opponent? What are you afraid of?” question.
