I have a degree of skepticism about the Pakistani govt and intel services, but I’m trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. How long did it take us to catch on to Aldrich Ames? How long did it take the Brits to find out about Kim Philby? It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Pakistan is a good and loyal ally who just needs a little help rooting out their own traitors.

Well, yes, but they were spies and not the most well-known, most visually recognized international terrorist in the world!
