Obama is charismatic, which I’ve come to believe is the number one requirement of a president. Romney isn’t.

I can’t help but think the recent attempted storm by Arizona’s Brewer was actually the first of several attempts to reduce Obama’s reputation of being, well, a nice guy. An attempt to sour some of his charisma. If so we’ll see more such confrontations.

I’m not so sure that it was a hit orchestrated by the party at large, but I’m willing to believe that it was partially her intention to make him lose his cool on camera, even if only to make her the “victim” and thus boost her status amongst the party base.

But if the effort was to make him look anything other than friendly and personable, then it faily miserably. She’s the one on camera with a pinched face and pointed finger, while he’s got that friendly look on his face we’ve seen so many times. The GOP’s gonna have to try a lot harder to cultivate the “angry black man” image if that’s their intent.
