Hmmm.
In my case, the effects seemed to last only as long as the drip itself; I was already well on my way back to normal consciousness as they were wheeling me out of the operating room. I think your body must metabolize valium, at least in the form they use as a drip, very rapidly.
Not sure what the pill form does. It was crazy popular back in the late 60s/early to mid 70s, but I think the doses were pretty light compared to the surgical use. I never heard of anyone blanking out like I did.
Or maybe they just don’t remember blanking out. Mind altering drugs can be so confusing.
