Thanks. This just pisses me off to no end. My little speeches have shut up my wingnut parents and sister though,lol. They love my son,and I’ve made sure they understand the key role teachers have had in helping him overcome incredible obstacles. All of that bitching about teachers has stopped.

My kid’s kindergarten teacher bent the rules and got my son special services before he had been officially diagnosed with autism. She didn’t have to do that,she did it out of love and concern. She basically figured out ways to get the special ed dept into her classroom to help without totally breaking the rules. And then arranged for me to meet with these people so they could teach me things like speech,sensory integration and occupational therapy exercises so I could continue these things at home. That’s dedication and going beyond the 40 hours a week.

My son just graduated last week(late,but he did it)against huge odds. Because of dedicated teachers. Alot of them. All of them way underpaid.
