Exaggeration and distortion like this make it all too easy to reject anything and everything else the story may have to say.

There is no exaggeration or distortion. They are telling us to follow scripture, then (stupidly, as has been pointed out by many) quoting scripture that recommends stoning to death of animals who have hurt humans. If they want us to merely kill the animal but not stone it, they haven’t given any rationale for that. All they have told us is that they want scripture to be followed. They deserve that headline fully.

Please, do tell me now what from that story that Coyne has allegedly facilitated the ‘all too easy’ rejection of?
