He has a partial point. At least in my opinion, too many young men in the West do not learn proper male values. They thinking that being ‘masculine’ amounts to violent thuggery, which it does not. I also think that the rise of women is most of what has given western men an identity crisis. But differ in that I do not think the corrective is for women to be subservient again. I do believe that a certain deference by both sexes is more in order, coupled to the promotion of positive virtues for both (though in my ideal these would differ in places).

Again, not trying to justify sexism or bigotry. It’s just my take on the point the loon was trying to make. Nothing can justify terrorist acts like the ones in Oslo.

I understand where you are coming from. Interestingly enough, there is a whole branch of RC who is trying to promote Joseph (earthly father of Jesus) in order to promote just what you are talking about.

Such things as the “million man march” and some other organizations are trying to do what they can, I think in a positive way.

In the end, IMHO, it takes fathers, grandfathers and uncles.
