And I thought it was Italy that was choking in red tape and bureaucracy. If we whitewash gross bureaucratic incompetence and allow political correctness to paralyze us from taking effective action, then we simply enable more of the same.

The battle against bureaucratic incompetence is one that has been taking place since the dawn of governance. I don’t see any quick solutions to that because from my experience even after efforts to streamline it the reverse is usually the case.
