Seriously, don’t do that. It will play hell with your credit. Having a line of unused credit on an open card is better… for some weird reason, closing an account, even yourself, knocks you down a few points.
However… it’s weird that you didn’t apply for the card. Pre-approved offers are common, but they don’t generally set up the account. Check around and make sure no one signed your name…

Good point…I did confirm my name, address with a gal on the phone, but probably wasn’t paying attention when she said the card was in the mail…I usually tune these people out after about thirty seconds. Thanks for the advice.
