I like the factcheckers at all times, I just don’t put blind faith in them. On many occasions, they’ve showed that they’re not impartial, but serving their own agenda— such as when Politifact claimed that the Democrats saying the Republicans want to end Medicare was the ‘lie of the year’. Medicare would be changed beyond all recognition by the Republican program. It was perhaps technically true that the GOP would have continued Medicare, but saying they would end it wasn’t any sort of lie, and definitely not the lie of the year.

I don’t get why anyone automatically puts their faith in someone (most of them just members of the media) who deem themselves to be factcheckers. Nor do I understand how overlooking the errors and biases of the factcheckers themselves is a good thing.
