Today will be another red letter day for that traveling freak show known as Illinois politics.

Gov Blago is reported to be planning on making an appearance at his impeachment trial to make a “closing argument” in his favor.

It’s supposed to take place about 11:00 am today. Should make for some great entertainment. It will be one of the few times the guy has actually been in the State Capital during his entire time in office. He might need to get directions to the floor.

Some are theorizing that he will resign. I doubt it, cause then he can’t sue, which is what I’m sure this is all about on his end, to sue for damages and get a settlement.

Yesterday they were documenting in very clear detail how the Gov was openly ignoring Federal law and State law in purchasing practices, and then openly conspiring on how to try to get around the rules.

I hope Blago has a ride back to chicago after his appearance today cause very shortly after he stops talking, he will no longer be Governor and thus will not be able to use the State jet to ride back to Chicago. Maybe he can thumb a ride.
