Because, before someone can be sent to jail they must first break the law. Engaging in questionable behavior to make a political point is not illegal.

Threatening the President is a crime. Showing up with a hand gun to an event where the President is, is a threat to the President. He deserves his fate. This will follow him for the rest of his life. For those of you who think he, “got away with it,” rest easy in the knowledge that he did not. This idiot has earned the attention of the Secret Service for the rest of his days. I’m sure we’ll see him on T.V. in a couple of years bemoaning the scrutiny he is under for this one moronic act. I won’t feel sorry for him then, either.
