So the Dems wanted Walker gone, but then decided that the reasons they were running on why they wanted him gone were too extreme. No fucking wonder they lost.

I think a lot of that has to do with the success of Clinton’s presidency. His triangulation was effective, at least in terms of his own political viability. Since the 70s the Dems have mostly been afraid, with the exception of progressives in solid blue states/districts. And Clinton’s success in the 90’s seems to validate that middle road as the safest path.
