Speaking of odd laws…

One of my neighbors died in January. Darned inconsiderate of him, I think. After all, it takes years to train one’s neighbors to a sufficient level of neighborlyness and for one to up and die after all that work just speaks to the dastardly ‘me first’ attitude so prevelant in today’s society.

Anyway. The new neighbor came to me yesterday and said that he wanted to pave his drive and wanted me to help pay for it. The drive curves into my property for about 50 yards. I declined, as I can’t afford to pave my own drive, and see no real reason to pay to pave his. On thing lead to another and the fellow finally stated his intention to pave the thing and simply bill me for ‘my share’.

So I said fine, do as you think best. I think that the best option for me is to post my property and let you figure out how to get home without trespassing. The gentleman came around to my way of thinking, and we parted, if not friendly, at least neighborly.
