I’m not so sure. When push comes to shove, Obama won’t want to risk losing the African American vote, a majority of which disapproves of same-sex marriage. (Though, Obama, in recent days, had become less fearful of facing these issues than he did during the campaign and his early days.)

“African Americans” have not ditched him over DADT and aren’t going to ditch him over gay marriage. So please, no pre-emptive scapegoating before the vote has even taken place.
Like it or lump it, with McCain, we’d still be languishing under DADT and any talk of ending DOMA would be a joke.
