My question to the computer nerds here: My bro is buying a new computer…with Vista. He needs to transfer some sensitive military stuff from his old XP machine. How to go about doing that? Thank you in advance : )

I’m not sure what the question is. Is it just files in folders? Is it applications (programs), or what.

Whole programs would be hard to do, unless they are stand alone programs that exist in a SINGLE folder, with no other pieces of the program embedded in other places (such as DLL’s)

If it is just files, like documents, in folders, I would transfer them to a USB memory stick and then put the memory stick in the Vista computer and load the files down to the Vista box.
