Here’s what I expect if Omarosa is proven right on the “N****r Tape”: The media to grab their clutchin’ pearls and begin immediately making excuses based upon…wait for it…his age. That is the go-to anytime an old white guy is caught being openly racist, the idea that their age means they “don’t know any better.”

“Oh, that’s the way he was raised, the culture he grew up in. It was such a common and accepted word back then that he doesn’t feel wrong saying it. You can’t expect someone who’s had decades to learn better to just drop the use of the word in regular conversation!”

Back when? I’m 65 and did not grow up hearing the word much. Occasionally, maybe, like on TV with some racist idiot using it but it wasn’t at all common. I never used the term except perhaps quoting someone, or discussing Huck Finn.
