They don’t sell ATA/IDE anymore. So I’m hoping I can get a connector for one of the newer hard drives.

I’m also curious as to whether I’ll have to repurchase my operating system. Is it bound to one specific hard drive or to the computer itself?

Sorry, I should say its not bound to either.
But copyright would say you can only have the one copy installed one one computer.
