I’m at a distance here (New Zealand) but it seems a scary overlap between those obsessed with Evil Healthcare and those obsessed with stockpiling guns and ammunition. Where I grew up in Arizona, gun use was usually associated with wild animals or alcohol—or both. Now it seems a point of pride to keep guns to keep the gov’t in line.
A gun-loving friend in Arizona wrote me that he’s stockpiling because the gov’t is bound to raise taxes on ammunition as a way to discourage gun use. Is anything like that in the works?
