I just hope the authorities I’ve heard so far make good on their threat “you wanna ride it out? You are on your own.”

Speaking of riding it out, we’re debating that right now. The sustained wind is looking to be in the same region of Isabel, which we rode out back in ‘03. Our biggest worry is our roof, but if the wind doesn’t get much higher than 70mph, then we’re just going to hunker down and hope for the best. We’ll lose a lot of shingles, but so long as the roof’s still there, we can survive.

But I expect that folks won’t be seeing much of me after Saturday, at least until power is restored, which could take days considering the speed of Dominion Power.
