Actually, yes. You are. Cops and law enforcement hate it when civilians draw their own weapons during a situation. It only adds to the confusion and makes their jobs harder.

Also, a civilian gun owner might be trained, but they’re not always equipped to fully take in what’s going on. A gun owner damn near shot and killed an innocent person during the Giffords assassination attempt. What then?

I am properly trained in its use.

So what? Even cops and law enforcement make mistakes. Being trained doesn’t mean you know how to handle every situation or something stressful when you’re in the middle of it.
