Which is why I hope that Palin is indeed engaging in an Antaeus move (see my #388 above), going back to her own sources of strength and turning her back on what the Republican pros think she should do. If she does that, she will either come back as the powerhouse she first appeared to be when she accepted the nomination, magnified evven beyond her initial strength because she will have gotten to be a powerhouse on her own terms—or she will rapidly crash and burn.

It is clear that Palin will get no support for anything she does from the Republican pros, so an Antaeus move is her only real option.

Palin’s Facebook info lists her as a Republican, but the word does not appear in her Independence Day post.

Might she try to start a new party? It seems unlikely—but I don’t see a likely explanation for her resignation.
