That’s because we got thoroughly sick of it back when it was “black men raping white women” in the nineteenth century. Americans came to identify that meme with racism in all its ugliest forms, and so anything like it won’t fly.

Some people got sick of it. It still has currency, sad to say. As does its ugly stepsister, the “traitor to her race” white woman who is thought to be consorting with black men. We saw that vile meme on display recently with that “Gimme yo’ cash, bitch!” internet ad in Cali.
