They have fought the British government against discrimination in their pay, war-time compensation for being taken prisoner by the Japanese during World War II, and the right to claim the UK as their home. However, Nepal’s famed Gurkha soldiers will not have to fight a new battle against the new David Cameron government as Britain said they will not be affected by changes in the immigration policy that is expected to slash the number of non-European migrants drastically.

I presume you’re in agreement here, Mandy. As I’m sure you know, the Gurkhas have been loyal and redoubtable fighters for England ever since the days of the British Empire. They have every reason to be able to settle in the UK if they choose.
