The General Slocum was a boat in NYC harbor that caught fire and capsized and killed over 1,000 people within minutes.

I think the analogy is completely appropriate. The RNC is a disaster of epic proportions, and the opening act is entirely forgettable.

Oh, and if I wanted to see tonight’s acts, I would have watched TLC. They do the act much better there.
