Because he didn’t give them everything they wanted. It doesn’t matter we got SSM legalized under Obama, expanded health care, began the loosening of federal marijuana illegality, got out of the Great Recession. Because Obama didn’t give them universal health care, full out legalization, or put Bush or the bankers on trial, he’s a failure to them. Obama was in a tough situation and I think he performed admirably.

And Democrats around him failed him - by not supporting Obamacare as fully as they should have. They didn’t make the case, and let GOP define it to the public, instead of taking ownership for the single biggest reduction in uninsured rate in recent history.

Democrats also failed when it came to doing more to stop McConnell blocking Obama judicial picks. They didn’t take midterms seriously enough, and GOPers got to pack the bench for the next 20-40 years with right wing extremists thanks to their apathy.
