re: #635 Walter L. Newton
Ok, for crying out loud:
Beck is not even giving opinion. On a nightly basis, he make definitive statements, pronouncements and presents stories as if they are solid news items. He’s like 60 minutes on drugs.
An opinion is a belief that may or may not be backed up with evidence, but which cannot be proved with that evidence. It is normally a subjective statement and may be the result of an emotion or an interpretation of facts; people may draw opposing opinions from the same facts. (wiki).
Beck is always trying to prove something with the information he is imparting on his show. [So, opinions have to be pure fantasy?]
Just the fact that he has been correct about certain subjects proves that he is propounding more than just opinion. [“Random walk:” 50% in each direction.]
Otherwise you are saying that he is not contributing anything to anything and it’s a worthless hour of useless opinion. [Unless you are entertained or — horrors!—learn something]
You can’t have it both ways. [In this case I have it only one way.]
