With all the reports of violence, rapes, defecating, attacking police, etc…who are these people and how did they end up at OWS protests without being OWS protesters?

OWS is not a party or a movement, it is a group of people out occupying public areas in various US cities.

Many of them are there to protest Wall Street policies and practices, others are there for various reasons, some are homeless looking for free food and a safe place to camp out, some are looking for attention, and and others are there to vandalize and incite violence.

My attention is not at all directed to OWS and how it manifests itself, but rather to the US financial industry and how it is regulated.
