Krugman has an editorial in the local liberal rag. Says Obama has an “impressive” command of the facts regarding health care? He doesn’t mention tort reform, or patient responsibility, but how can any serious health care reform that wants to control costs not address the costs of lawsuits and the fact that people are out of control? 200,000 for malpractice insurance for a neurosurgeon, somewhere near that for an OB/GYN doc, and when something happens a kazillion dollar reward and another John Edwards created so Larry the Lawyer never has to work again, which of course would be a good thing, but I digress. So now, the public going to pay for this, and according to Mr. Impressive, it will be the docs fault when fat people continue to wolf down twinkies, and double cheeseburgers.

New patient script:
Office:Doctor Roboto’s office.
Patient:I need an appointment. I don’t feel well.
Office: How tall are you.
Patient: 5 ft 3
Office:What do you weigh?
Patient: 320
Office: Hold on let me check. Right, Dr. Roboto will be able to see you in 4 years, would you like to make an appointment?
