You don’t think a preist, nun or rabbi is treated differently than you or I? I’m not talking about one that has broken a law, but lets say in an investigation where you and a rabbi (could be an opening line for e joke, but it’s not) witness something. Lets say your 2 accounts are diamettrically opposite. Which version do you think the cop would tend to lean towards?

Surely they are being treated differently to me. Because the police officer is a human being and judges according to her/his value system.
But that is not the point here, the important issue is that western democratic societies make it a rule that we are all equal as a basic tenet.
The police forces and their training are evolving through time to accommodate and alleviate those very biases I mentioned above.
Thus immigrants that are new to these concepts need to learn these principles that are ofttimes vastly different to their original cultures.
