Without a doubt the problems of the lower Mississippi and the delta are time bombs for the US.
Not the only time bomb, of course. Whenever the next great earthquake hits the PNW the tragedies will be overwhelming, maybe even more so that a quake in the SF Bay area.
We can do little about earthquakes (other than safety codes.) And I think we are getting to the point where we need to accept that we’ve already ordered more climate change than we have the purse to cover.
