It’s called deferred compensation, the unions took it for years in lieu of increased pay. The unions funded their obligations under contracts that both parties agreed to. Now they’ve learned the municipalities will raid their pensions and weasel out of contracts that were signed in good faith. It’s not the union’s fault the cities weren’t prepared or willing to live up to their obligations.

Is “Cities” a euphemism for “politicans”?
