Published recipes do fall under copyright, unless nobody knows the source or it’s publlic domain (e.g., Senate bean soup).
The LGF cookbook is not for profit, but we stlll can’t just copy stuff without permission and sell it.

Inventing similar recipes is another matter. Every general cookbook has a beef stew recipe; they can’t help but resemble each other a lot.
