Which is why, if this plan goes through, it’s going to be another red mark on the GOP come next year. There’s no way to argue that such privatization is in the employee’s interests, because it’s not meant to help the employees. It’s just the GOP helping itself to the agency’s funds to make up for past mistakes, while leaving the employees at the mercy of the same companies the agency was created to replace.
