I know what you mean, but I’m not a believer in the “bipartisan” issue - I don’t think either party’s president or congressmen, etc…, work with the other side unless reality demands it, i.e., the numbers aren’t there or the public wants bipartisanship on a particular issue, or a president works with the other side today when he doesn’t have to, in order to gain some concession tomorrow.

It’s a vote thing. If Bush had the votes, he would have rammed down things the Democrats would have hated. Power is power. Perhaps that is why Obama is pushing for all this stuff now…he figures he may never get this kind of majority ever again.
