He had a problem with YouTube’s payout system for songs, and you can’t really blame him. After the whole Warner Brothers fiasco (which prompted the name change to the sardonic ‘The Artist’), he became pre-occupied with getting paid for his stuff. That’s when the massive takedowns started - and that’s a model that both The Beatles’ management and the Hendrix estate are following now on Youtube. You’ll notice that most of the original Beatles and Hendrix recordings are impossible to fine nowadays.
