If there was true justice Alan West would be in jail. The Air Force was caught preaching evangelical Christianity to their new recruits especially at the Academy. There is a large percentage that believes in right wing ideology. The freedoms they claim to love are freedoms for right wing white Christian males.

Helping Korea or Vietnam with their local conflicts has nothing to do with “protecting America and our freedoms” since none of those countries had any desire to ever attack America.

Vietnam is questionable, though we did have a mutual-defence treaty with them. South Korea invoked Article V of the UN treaty in defence of a member state, to which the UN (of which we are still a member) responded.

That still goes back to my question, do we ignore the treaties we signed?

Alan West was convicted at an Article 32 hearing, fined, and allowed to retire. He’d been charged with authorising a simulated execution of an Iraqi prisoner.

His conviction was in line with the UCMJ. One solution would be to fix the UCMJ.

I would note the overwhelming majority of military veterans in Congress are Democrats.
